The stone pines the nutcrackers feed on. Ongoing. 77 stops, three walks.
Nutcrackers arrived in Umeå in 1977 and stayed. They live on the seed of Siberian stone pines, planted across the city from the 1860s.
I'm mapping the trees. 77 stops so far. A green strip of 24 north-west of the city sits in no register, with nutcrackers feeding through it. On 12 August I began recording the trees I watched and found empty, which matters as much as the ones with birds.
